Professional Development Day February 18, 2013

Welcome to Google Forms!
"Use your Google Drive account to start creating students assessments in Google Forms. It's easy, it's fast and you will have instant results. Join me on Monday, February 18th to find out how. You can use this post to find helpful documents, videos and tips."

Getting Started
It might be helpful to think of the process of creating a Google Form in these basic steps:
  1. Create the Form. (Form view)
  2. Take the quiz in preparation for the self-grading portion.
  3. Access the quiz in spreadsheet view. (The title of your quiz will be followed by the word "Responses")
  4. Enter correct responses on the grade sheet.
  5. Enter the formulas for correct responses.
  6. Enter formula for Final Score.
  7. To view results, view the spreadsheet of responses, click on Form from the top menu and choose Summary of responses. (You will see how students did on each question.)
Once the above is completed, your Google Form assessment is ready to be used with students!

Tip: Self-grading in Google Forms works only with answers that can be an exact match, such as multiple choice responses. It won’t work with free-form text or paragraph fields. You can certainly still use a Google Form for a test that includes essay responses, but those will have to be graded manually. (From TechRepublic, www.techrepublic.com)
